Abstract

This study analyzes trends in sesame production and export performance in Malawi from 2017 to 2023, with a focus on identifying growth patterns, export market dynamics, and opportunities for value addition. The results show a robust and consistent increase in sesame cultivation, with the area under production more than doubling from 9,924 hectares in 2017 to 20,602 hectares in 2023.
