Deputy Director of Development Planning Commends LUANAR on Performance of PSIP Projects

The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) this week hosted a monitoring and evaluation team from the Department of Economic Planning and Development (DEPD) for a two-day engagement centred on Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) support projects.

On Monday, the team conducted a joint field monitoring tour, visiting LUANAR's Bunda Campus, ODL Campus, and NRC Campus to assess the progress of development projects being implemented with technical and financial support from the Government of Malawi. The projects under review include the Skills Development Programme, the Mega Teaching Farms Programme, and the Capacity Expansion for Productive Knowledge Generation and Application Programme — all of which are contributing to the transformation of LUANAR's physical infrastructure, teaching and learning, research and technology development, and outreach.

On Tuesday, the tour concluded with a review meeting held at Chikho Hotel, where the Deputy Director of Development Planning, Dr. Richard Kajombo, commended LUANAR for the effective performance of the PSIP-funded projects.
Speaking at the meeting, LUANAR's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Emmanuel Kaunda, expressed the University's gratitude to the Government of Malawi and development partners for their continued technical and financial support, which enables the institution to fulfil its public mandate of contributing to sustainable socio-economic development.
