NRC Quadrangle, 12 June 2026

Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) marked the International Day of Yoga 2026 with a vibrant yoga and wellness session held at the NRC Quadrangle on Friday, 12 June 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM.
The event, co-organised by the Indian High Commission, Lilongwe and the Office of the Vice Chancellor, drew enthusiastic participation from staff and students across both NRC and Bunda Campus. Yoga mats were provided to all participants, and the session provided a welcome opportunity for the LUANAR community to pause, breathe, and reconnect with their physical and mental wellbeing.

The atmosphere at the NRC Quadrangle was one of warmth and community, with participants seated across the open courtyard in the spirit of shared wellness — a fitting celebration of a day recognised globally for promoting harmony between people and nature.

The International Day of Yoga, observed every year on 21 June, was established by the United Nations in 2014 following a proposal by India. This year's campus celebration is a reflection of the strong diplomatic and cultural ties between Malawi and India, and of LUANAR's commitment to the holistic development of its university community.

LUANAR extends sincere gratitude to the Indian High Commission for their partnership in making this event possible, and to all staff and students who participated in the session.
