About Mr Aaron CHIKAKUDA

Aaron is currently a doctoral student at Michigan State University in the United States of America. His study area is Human Nutrition PhD from College of Agriculture and Natural Resources as well as Post Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology from College of Human Medicine, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He holds a diploma in Clinical Medicine from Malawi College Of Health Sciences, a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biological Sciences and Nutrition from University of Malawi as well as a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Michigan State University. He is well versed with the healthcare and nutrition landscape in Malawi and developing countries, as well as practical knowledge of and experience in Community Health, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH), Mental Health and community development and clinical nutrition. He is a seasoned educator, consultant and researcher in health care and nutrition research, biased in clinical nutrition. Aaron delivers courses in nutrition and supervises research to both undergraduate and graduate (MSc) students at LUANAR. He has designed, and implemented research studies in community and clinical nutrition (maternal, neonatal and child, critical care, pediatrics, cancer and HIV, and surgical patients). He is currently investigating prenatal nutrition and birth outcomes, with special interest in neural tube defects (NTDs).
