About Mr Paul FATCH
Paul Falakeza FATCH (PhD) is a Senior Lecturer at LUANAR, and current Head of Extension Department. Has worked with LUANAR since 2015, having worked previously for Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Extension for 10 years. He is also the Chairperson of the umbrella body for agricultural extension in Africa, the African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS). Paul has authored 6 journal publications, 1 book chapter, 4 published technical papers, and 10 extension related training modules. The focus of his journal and technical paper publications included agricultural policies, extension policies, extension systems, farmer network analysis, agricultural diversification, nutrition, dairy production, extension support services. He contributed to development of government policies and guidelines for Malawi Government, notably the Greenbelt Initiative, Lead Farmer, Harmonized Programming and other guidelines. He has delivered short course trainings such as “Governance for Climate Change Management”, “Training of Trainers on Extension Systems, Strategies, Methods and Approaches”, “Community Mobilization”, “Food Systems Governance”, and “New Extensionist”. Paul is a Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) certified Master Trainer for New Extensionist.
