Skills for employment: Scaling up Technical and Vocational Education Training in Africa.

Project description

This applied research project aims at improving overall quality, relevancy and inclusiveness of TVET to meet the dynamic labor market and entrepreneurial needs. The anticipation is that this will enhance the employability of the working age population besides their ability to identify and sustainably execute entrepreneurial opportunities. The project is being implemented in Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Uganda

Mainstreaming child and forced labour in Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) academic programmes.

Project description

The main objective of the project is to build capacity of students, staff and stakeholders on issues of child and forced labour. Specifically the project aims to:

  1. Mainstream issues of child and forced labour in its academic programmes through development of supplementary modules
  2. Undertake and promote research on child and forced labour through postgraduate students
  3. Build the capacity of faculty members, students and other stakeholders on child labour and forced labour issues.
