Scholarships


APA offers scholarships to both local and international students. Since its inception, APA has supported 80 students through partial and full scholarships. This includes 8 international MSc students and 4 international PhD students on full scholarships, as well as 58 national students and 10 national PhD students on partial scholarships.

Whether you're a prospective postgraduate student or already enrolled in a program at LUANAR, you have an equal opportunity to be awarded a scholarship by APA. All APA scholarships are Merit based. This means that scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, such as GPA, standardized test scores, and research experience.

To be eligible for APA scholarships, a candidate is required to apply for admission at LUANAR. Once admitted , a candidate can be able to submit their admissions at APA office.

APA Funded Programmes

APA Scholarships are available to the following programmes:

  • PhD in Rural Development and Extension
  • PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics
  • MSc in Agricultural and Applied Economics
  • MSc in Rural Development and Extension

Short Courses


APA offers short course opportunities to provide practical knowledge and skills on agricultural policy issues that align with industry demands so far, the APA has conducted 4 short courses and trained about 282 participants. Below are some of the trainings conducted so far:

  • Risk Management
  • Policy Formulation and Translation Using DHS Data
  • Welfare and Public Policy Analysis Using Stata
  • Research Ethics
  • New Extensionist Cohort 1 & 2

Exchange Visits

: APA also offers exchange visits for academic and non-academic staff, researchers, postgraduate students at regional and national levels. Currently, the center has sent over 20 staff members and over 15 students for exchange visits in various regional Universities.
